Xinhua News Agency: To follow up on Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman’s visit to China, how does China view its current relations with Croatia and what does China expect to achieve through this visit?

林剑：中方欢迎克罗地亚外长拉德曼访华。中国同克罗地亚传统友好，两国全面合作伙伴关系发展顺利，在共建“一带一路”和中国—中东欧国家合作方面取得积极成果。中方高度重视中克关系发展，愿同克方一道，以此访为契机，加强两国发展战略对接，深挖务实合作潜力，密切人文交流对话，开启中克全面合作伙伴关系新篇章。

Lin Jian: China welcomes Gordan Grlić Radman, Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, to visit China. The two countries have enjoyed traditional friendship. The China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership has maintained steady growth, and Belt and Road cooperation and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries have borne positive results. China attaches great importance to its relations with Croatia. Through this visit, we stand ready to work with Croatia to further align our development strategies, unlock potential for practical cooperation, have closer people-to-people and cultural exchange and dialogue, and open up a new chapter for our comprehensive cooperative partnership.

日本广播协会记者：今天上午，北京市第二中级人民法院以间谍罪判处一名日本制药公司男性员工有期徒刑三年六个月。日本政府对此表示遗憾，要求中方尽早释放该人员。此外，日方还指出司法程序缺乏透明性影响两国关系改善和稳定发展，也成为妨碍民意和人员往来的重要因素。发言人对此有何评论？

NHK: This morning, the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court sentenced a male employee of a Japanese pharmaceutical company to three years and six months in prison for espionage. The Japanese government called the sentencing “regrettable” and called for the release of the man at the earliest. Japan also said the lack of transparency in judicial procedures impacts the improvement and steady development of bilateral ties and is an obstacle to improving people-to-people exchanges and public sentiment between Japan and China. What’s your comment?

林剑：中国是法治国家，司法机关严格依法办案，保障当事人各项合法权利，按照有关国际公约和《中日领事协定》，为日方执行领事职务提供便利。我还要指出的是，中方一贯支持中日经贸合作，为在华日企与人士的合法经营提供良好环境。我们欢迎外国企业来华开展经贸合作。在华和来华的外籍人员只要遵守法律，依法从业，就没有什么可担心和不安的。

Lin Jian: China upholds the rule of law. Our judicial authorities handle the case in strict accordance with the law, protect the lawful rights of the person concerned, and provide facilitation for the Japanese side to perform consular duties in accordance with relevant international conventions and the Agreement on Consular Relations between China and Japan. Let me also point out that China supports trade and economic cooperation between China and Japan and provides a favorable environment for the lawful operation of Japanese companies and individuals in China. We welcome foreign companies to carry out economic and trade cooperation in China. Foreign individuals in China who abide by laws and conduct lawful operation have nothing to worry or be concerned about.

俄新社记者：被提名为美国常驻联合国代表的华尔兹周二表示，如果他的任命得到确认，中国的“恶意行为”和在联合国日益增长的影响力将是他首要考虑的问题。发言人对此有何评论？

RIA Novosti: Nominee for the role of United States envoy to the United Nations Mike Waltz said on Tuesday that China’s malicious behavior and growing influence in the organization will be “top of mind” for him if he is confirmed for the position. What’s your comment on this?

林剑：这些言论反映出美国一些政客典型的意识形态偏见和冷战零和思维，中方对此坚决反对。我们敦促美方客观理性看待中国和中美关系，以实际行动推动中美关系稳定、健康、可持续发展，而不是相反。

Lin Jian: These remarks reflect the typical ideological bias and Cold-War and zero-sum mentality of some U.S. politicians. China firmly rejects this. We urge the U.S. to view China and this bilateral relationship objectively and rationally, and make concrete effort to promote the steady, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, instead of doing the opposite.

路透社记者：昨天，李强总理在和澳大利亚总理阿尔巴尼斯共同出席中澳工商界首席执行官圆桌会时，对澳外商投资审查规则表达了担忧。请问哪些具体领域或行业是中方最为关注的？

Reuters: Premier Li Qiang raised concerns with Australia’s foreign investment screening rules during a meeting attended by his counterpart Anthony Albanese and business leaders from both countries yesterday. What specific industries is China most concerned about?

林剑：关于阿尔巴尼斯总理此次访华有关工商界活动，中方已经发布了消息。中方一贯认为，经贸合作是中澳关系的压舱石。中方愿同澳方一道，为两国企业在对方国家投资经营提供公平、开放、非歧视的营商环境，推动两国经贸合作不断向前发展。

Lin Jian: Regarding the event with the business community during Prime Minister Albanese’s visit here, the Chinese side has released a readout. We always believe that economic and trade cooperation serves as the ballast for the relations between China and Australia. China stands ready to work with Australia to provide a fair, open and non-discriminatory business environment for companies investing and operating in each other’s countries and continue to grow our economic and trade ties.

中新社记者：上海合作组织成员国外长理事会会议昨天在天津举行。发言人能否进一步介绍有关情况？

China News Service: The Meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States was held in Tianjin yesterday. Could you share more information on that?

林剑：7月15日，上海合作组织成员国外长理事会会议在天津成功举行。会前，习近平主席在北京集体会见来华出席会议的各国外长和上合组织常设机构负责人，强调面对变乱交织的国际形势，上合组织要看准方向、坚定信心，高效行动、更有作为，牢记成立初心，回应人民期待，担当时代使命，做“上海精神”的火炬手、深化合作的行动派、构建人类命运共同体的笃行者，为世界注入更多稳定性和正能量。

Lin Jian: On July 15, the Meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States was successfully held in Tianjin. Before the meeting, President Xi Jinping had a group meeting with foreign ministers and heads of permanent bodies of the SCO in Beijing. He stressed that in the face of a turbulent and changing international landscape, the SCO must stay focused, remain confident, act efficiently and play a more proactive role. It needs to remain true to its founding mission, respond to the people’s expectations and shoulder its mission of the times. It should also serve as the torchbearer of the Shanghai Spirit, be a doer in deepening cooperation and a steadfast contributor to building a community with a shared future for mankind, and inject greater stability and positive energy into the world.

王毅外长主持外长会议，就上合组织未来发展提出五点建议：一是不忘初心，弘扬“上海精神”；二是安危共担，夯实安全基石；三是互利共赢，驱动发展引擎；四是亲仁善邻，共建美好家园；五是坚守正道，捍卫公平正义。会后，王毅外长与上合组织秘书长叶尔梅克巴耶夫共见记者，宣布上合组织峰会将于8月31日至9月1日在天津举办。与会各方高度评价中方担任轮值主席国的出色工作和取得的积极成果，充分肯定上合组织重要作用，表示愿同中方协调配合，共同办好天津峰会。

Foreign Minister Wang Yi chaired the meeting and made a five-point proposal for the future development of the SCO: first, staying true to SCO’s founding mission and carrying forward the “Shanghai Spirit”; second, sharing responsibility and laying a solid foundation for security; third, seeking mutual benefit and win-win results and creating engines for development; fourth, upholding amity and good neighborliness and building a beautiful homeland; fifth, staying the course and defending fairness and justice. When jointly meeting the press with SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev after the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang announced that the SCO summit will be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. Participants spoke highly of China’s work as the rotating chair of the SCO, commended the important role of the SCO and expressed their readiness to cooperate and coordinate with China to make the SCO Tianjin summit a full success.

本次外长会围绕各项议题深入交换意见，为天津峰会召开做了充分政治准备。相信在各方共同努力下，天津峰会必将成为一届团结、友好、成果丰硕的峰会，上合组织必将进入更加团结、更重协作、更富活力、更有作为的高质量发展新阶段。

In-depth discussions at this meeting made full political preparations for the upcoming Tianjin summit. We believe that with the concerted effort of all parties, the Tianjin summit will be a gathering of solidarity, friendship and fruitful results, and the SCO will enter a new stage of high-quality development featuring greater solidarity, coordination, dynamism and productiveness.

路透社记者：据《南华早报》报道，中方取消了在2021年开始实施的对欧洲议会前议员彼蒂科菲尔的制裁。外交部能否证实此事？

Reuters: The South China Morning Post reports that China has removed restrictions on Reinhard Buetikofer, the former EU lawmaker it sanctioned in 2021. Is the Foreign Ministry able to confirm it?

林剑：过去几年，中欧立法机构交往因为众所周知的原因，出现了一些波折。当前形势下，双方都认为，中欧加强对话合作十分重要。经双方商定，中方和欧洲议会决定同步全面取消对相互交往的限制。我们相信并期待，随着中欧全面恢复立法机构交往，双方交流和理解将更加深入，将为中欧关系持续健康稳定发展注入新动力。

Lin Jian: For publicly known reasons, the exchanges between Chinese and EU legislatures have encountered some setbacks over the past few years. Under the current circumstances, both sides recognize the importance of enhancing dialogue and cooperation. As agreed by the two sides, the Chinese side and the European Parliament decided to fully lift restrictions on two-way exchanges simultaneously. We believe and hope that as China and the EU fully resume exchanges between the legislatures, there will be deeper exchanges and understanding, and this will provide new driving forces for the sustained, sound and steady growth of China-EU relations.

印尼安塔拉通讯社记者：印度尼西亚和美国已经达成贸易协议。根据该协议，印尼对美出口产品将被征收19％关税，美对印尼出口产品将不会面临关税壁垒。这是继越南之后美国与东盟国家达成的第二份此类协议。外交部对此有何评论？

Antara: Indonesia and the United States have reached a trade agreement under which a 19 percent tariff will be imposed on Indonesian exports to the U.S., while U.S. exports to Indonesia will face no tariff barriers. This is the second such deal between the U.S. and an ASEAN country, following the agreement with Viet Nam. Would the Ministry like to comment on this?

林剑：中方一贯主张各方通过平等对话协商解决经贸分歧，维护良好的国际经贸合作环境。

Lin Jian: Our stance has always been that parties need to settle economic and trade disputes through equal-footed dialogue and consultation, and jointly foster a sound environment for international economic and trade cooperation.

俄新社记者：昨天，北约秘书长吕特称，考虑到美国总统特朗普可能对中国、印度和巴西三国与俄罗斯的贸易征收次级关税，希望三国向俄罗斯施加压力。中方对此有何评论？

RIA Novosti: Yesterday NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed a hope that China, India and Brazil will exert pressure on Russia over possible secondary tariffs that may be imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump over their trade with Moscow. What’s China’s comment on his remarks?

林剑：昨天，我已经就相关问题阐明了中方立场。我愿重申，中方始终认为对话谈判是解决乌危机的唯一可行出路，坚决反对任何非法单边制裁和“长臂管辖”。关税战没有赢家，胁迫施压解决不了问题。希望各方能为推动乌危机政治解决进一步营造氛围、积累条件，多做有益于劝和促谈的事。

Lin Jian: I’ve made clear China’s position on the relevant issue yesterday. Let me reiterate that China always believes that dialogue and negotiation is the only viable way out of the crisis. China firmly opposes any illicit unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction. Tariff wars have no winners. Coercion and pressuring will lead nowhere. We hope parties will help create the atmosphere and conditions for a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis, and act in ways conducive to promoting talks for peace.

《中国日报》记者：第三届中国国际供应链促进博览会今天开幕，这是链博会首次提前至夏季举办。这个夏天，中方还举办了西博会、南博会等一系列展会，彰显中国高水平对外开放积极姿态。发言人能否介绍更多情况？对此有何评论？

China Daily: The third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) kicked off today, which is the first time for the expo to be held in summer. Besides, China also hosted the Western China International Fair, the China-South Asia Expo and other events this summer, showcasing China’s active effort of pursuing high-standard opening up. Can you give us more details and your comment?

林剑：这个夏天，中国高水平对外开放迎来火热“进行时”。第三届中国国际供应链促进博览会今天在北京开幕。本届链博会亮点纷呈、特色突出，含“新”量更大，含“绿”量更足。651家中外企业和机构参展，境外参展商占比增至35％，欧美参展商达到境外参展商总数的50％。创新元素密集亮相，预计将迎来100余项首发首展首秀，比上届增加10％，还首次设置创新链专区，助力实验室“金点子”转化为产业发展“金钥匙”。本届链博会首次实现全馆绿色供电，预计将减排二氧化碳1100余吨。

Lin Jian: This summer witnessed China’s booming effort of striving for high-standard opening up. As you said, the third China International Supply Chain Expo kicked off in Beijing today, featuring multiple highlights, more innovation and greener practices. A total of 651 domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions will participate in the expo, with foreign exhibitors making up 35 percent of the total, half of whom are from Europe and the United States. The expo will showcase the latest innovations and more than 100 items are expected to make their debut at the expo, up by 10 percent compared with the previous CISCE. The expo also set up an innovation chain exhibition area for the first time, enabling laboratories to turn their “golden ideas” into “golden keys” that can drive industrial advancement. The venue of this year’s CISCE will be completely powered by green electricity for the first time and expected to cut CO2 emissions by over 1,100 tonnes.

链博会是各国企业加强资源共享和技术对接的大平台，也是中国高水平对外开放的新名片。近期公布的数据显示，今年上半年中国货物贸易进出口超21万亿元，创历史同期新高，在单边主义、保护主义上升的背景下，有力对冲了全球产供链出现的被动断裂和主动脱钩现象。展望未来，全球产供链深度融合、各国企业共生共赢的态势不可阻挡。中国愿继续携手各方，维护全球产供链稳定畅通，推动构建开放型世界经济体系。

The CISCE is a major platform for companies from all countries to enhance resource sharing and technology interconnection, and also a new signature event of China’s high-standard opening up. Latest data show that China’s total import and export of goods for the first half of 2025 exceeded 21 trillion yuan, setting a record high for the same period in history. With unilateralism and protectionism on the rise, China’s booming trade has effectively offset the impact of global industrial and supply chains being disrupted and economies decoupling from each other. Looking forward, the trend of deeply integrated global industrial and supply chains and interdependence between companies around the world is unstoppable. China stands ready to continue working with all sides to keep global industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded and build an open world economy.

沙特东方电视台记者：中东因伊朗和以色列停火问题面临不确定性。在谈判尚未重启的情况下，中方是否考虑为缓和紧张局势或防止战火复燃发挥作用？

Asharq News: The Middle East is facing uncertainty regarding the ceasefire between Iran and Israel. Is China considering playing any role to deescalate tensions or prevent the return to war, especially given that negotiations are yet to be resumed?

林剑：你提到中东局势，本次上合组织成员国外长理事会会议就相关问题进行了交流。当前中东地区局势依然复杂敏感，中方愿同国际社会一道努力，倡导和平，推进政治解决，尽快恢复中东地区和平稳定，这符合地区各国和国际社会的共同利益。

Lin Jian: You mentioned the situation in the Middle East. This was discussed at the Meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO Member States. The situation in the Middle East is still complex and sensitive. China stands ready to work with the rest of the international community to advocate peace, advance a political settlement, and restore peace and stability in the Middle East as soon as possible. This is in the common interest of countries in the region and the international community.
